Required Reading Response: Twitter, Facebook and social activism

In relation to Gladwell's theory of social media and activism I found another article that both supports and adds suggestions for his theory. I agree with Alexis Madrigal, a senior editor at The Atlantic, who discusses whether or not social media can develop into a new mean to revolutions.

"To distill, who says online social networks can't have leadership, strategy, and clear lines of authority? Even if we said that no current effort rises to the level of a sit-in, I wouldn't bet against powerful movements developing through social media over the next decade."

As of right now leadership may not exist in social media sites, but who is to say whether that trend will happen in the future? I support the idea that social media holds the opportunity for leadership roles and for groups to gather and conquer something.
